044 1张,120元 本唱片在芝加哥教堂现场录制,如同唱片名字一般的梦幻之声. Dreamhouse is a soaringly beautiful blend of piano, bass and drums, played with the laid-back ease synonymous with true jazz musicians. Fred Simon, Kelly Sill and Sarah Allen have pooled their formidable talents to record this, their aptly titled first album as a trio. Fred Simon's passion manifests itself in this album; he has written all the tracks himself except one. He has been making music for nearly thirty years, composing for records, live performance, film, dance and television. He has collaborated with the likes of Ralph Towner, Larry Coryell, Lyle Mays, Kurt Elling and Paul Wertico to name but a very few. Kelly and Sarah have likewise worked with many highly regarded musicians including Ernie Watts, Mose Allison, Bobbi Wilsyn and Bobby Conn. Dreamhouse was recorded in just one day at Union Church in Chicago by Ken Christianson. Track Listing 1. Anytime, Valentine 6:06 2. Poetspeak 4:53 3. Tell me Your Story 4:04 4. Those who enjoyed the first two CD should really dig this one. Why? Because it completely burning- that why! Geoff Bradfield has joined the band since the last recording, and besides contributing three superbad compositions he also adds his brilliant tenor, alto and bass clarinet playing. The remainder of the line up is the same as ropaganda? Rob Mazurek, Kevin Kizer, Jeff Parker and Noel Kupersmith. "Sirota’s band may be rebel souls, but they have big hearts too" - Downbeat "Here’s a smart forward thinking band that knows how to swing" - All About Jazz "Sirota plays with an effortless touch...very convincing" - Jazz Times Ted Sirota's Rebel Souls were formed by Chicago-based drummer Ted Sirota in 1995. The band has released three CDs on the Naim Label. Rebel Souls have their roots in the rebellious jazz and improvised music of the 1960's but draw on myriad styles, including afro-pop, funk, reggae, ska and hip-hop, to help cultivate what The Chicago Reader has called their "immediately recognizable sound". Ted Sirota's Rebel Souls strive to use their music as a weapon in the battle against oppression and reactionaries worldwide, and not merely as "art for art's sake". The band tackles the timely issues of oppression and resistance through their art. Various compositions pay tribute to fallen revolutionaries, expose current tyrants, and express hope for future generations. |
